Week 15 Famous Last Words

Wow, I cannot believe that this is the last full week of class. Usually around this time I am very overwhelmed with the stress of finals and all that but I have been blessed and God has really taken control on my progress in every class and I am not freaking out about the two finals that I do have next week. I am in good standing in both of the classes and I hope that I end in that same way. I thought that this week we would end with perhaps doing one last reading but we did not. Instead we looked at the class as a whole and I really enjoyed that, as I was able to go back and look at my progress in the whole class. I will now finish this class with the grade that I wanted and I am so glad that I can say that! I won’t lie that I was a little scared last week thinking that maybe I had put my self in a very risky situation and I would miss and A by a few points due to my not completing assignments due to my horrible horrible schedule of life and of course lovely procrastination. However, I was determined and now I am over that 410 mark. Yay!! As I had mentioned on my evaluations this is a great class and I am so glad that I decided to stick with it even know I knew a couple of people that had dropped the class. They made me feel skeptical but now when they have asked me about it they are a little jealous that they did leave because this really is a great class! I love having the control of what I do and that is exactly what this class allowed me to do. It was great! I am happy and content with the way this semester is coming to an end.

This is exactly what I am feeling

Week 15 Tech Tip

Youtube

I used to love YouTube until I met Spotify. My number one use for YouTube used to be listening to music however I didn't really like when it used it on my phone because if I got out of the app then it would stop playing the video that I was looking at. However, YouTube is still used a lot on my phone and on my laptop for my daughter. She has a lot of playlists of her favorite videos. I do not have any for myself... well that was until now. I have created a playlist with my current three favorite worship songs to listen to while I study.

TADA!

I hope that you enjoy them if you listen to it.

It is week 15 and I am so close to being done with this semester that I can hardly wait!

Week 15 Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset

This semester the hardest class that I encountered was cellular biology. From the first week until our last test I was really struggling with this class. I lost all hopes to make an A in the class by the second exam. Soon after I also started losing hope in the class, period. I thought that I was going to fail. This week however, after going through four really hard exams I have decided not to take the final. I decided this because this week I learned to accept my achievements no matter how small they can be. I am not finishing the class with the grade that I had wished for. However, I did not fail the class and will be able to move on from the class and never have to look back. That was my growth mindset of the week. Accepting my victories even if it wasn't the exact victory that I wanted.

Reading

My Favorite

This semester has been great and I think that choosing my favorite units will be fairly easy.

The following are my favorite in order:

1) Biblical units
2) Rhymes
3) Dante's Inferno

I think that our reading choices this semester were great and I loved the idea of splitting the reading into two so that it would not be so overwhelming. If I could start again I would tell myself to not start the readings so late so I could enjoy them more rather than rush through them. Also I would tell myself to do them so that I would not miss storytelling.

Reflections

Reflections

I must say that this has been a very interesting and fun class. I really did not come into this class with any expectations because none of my friends had taken it before. Now every time someone asks me about an upper division class this is the class that I highly recommend. I really enjoy how the grade that you get in the class really is the grade that you have worked for. Unfortunately, I did not learn (even after multiple opportunities to learn) that I could work ahead and turn in my assignments on time so that I would not have to find myself doing work for this class during dead week. I have a friend who finished this class about a month ago. Man am I jealous! But he deserved it since he put in so much work into the class and now I am paying the consequences of my choices.

However, with the negative already out there... I am proud of the work that I have done in this class. I would say that I am not a really great writer in the sense that I make a lot of grammatical errors but I think that I do have a good flow to my words. This class really helped me expand my logic and imagination. Every week we were presented with new material and I really like that I had so much liberty to choose what it is that I wanted to read each week. I have never been a part of a class that has really let the student choose the way that they want to learn. For that I am very grateful because it made a class that has the potential of being extremely boring to being a class that was really fun!

I think that the biggest take away from this class that I will take is definitely Growth Mindset. Growth Mindset has really helped me stand my ground and keep pushing through. I am glad that I decided to enroll in this class and that I kept with it.

With finals around the corner I must remind myself to just keep pushing. I think this meme was exactly what I was thinking.
